"Donqeshe - Woman on a horse"

Thus the story of my sculpture

"Donqeshe - Woman on a horse"

In the late nineties I got some sculptural assignments that required larger facilities than the ones I had at my disposal on Zealand. In this context, I spoke with the renowned sculptor and my colleague Robert Jacobsen, who referred me to Dal-Bo Machine factory in Randboel, near Egtved where Great Robert lived for many years. For several years Robert Jakobsen had the pleasure of working with the blacksmith Martin Gorm Pedersen at Dal-Bo, which he certainly thought that I would enjoy.

At that time I should exhibit at the Nordic House in the Faroe Islands. The first sculpture I made for the exhibition, was a female version of "Don Quixiote". A riding and happy woman with breasts and flowing hair at full gallop across the fields. A celebration of life, to Jutland and the joy of what might come. Since the exhibition in the Faroe Islands "The woman on a horse" has traveled far and wide both in Denmark and to several exhibition centers abroad, eventually she ended up in my garden on Zealand.

One day, the gallery owner Ole Holger Pedersen from Midtjyllands Kunst Center came over. He saw "The woman on a horse" in the garden, and then said "She should stand in front of my art center." When ever the gallery owner came to visit me in the years to come, I was asked to sell the sculpture. In 2013, after 7 years of persuasion, Ole Holger Pedersen finally managed to persuade me to sell "The woman on a horse." "Donqishe" which she later was baptized, was returned to Jutland shortly before the Easter exhibition in 2013 .

It is with great pleasure and pride that "Donqishe" now stands in front of Midtjyllands Kunst Center's entrance.

I'm glad that "Donqishe-Woman on a horse" is returned to the mainland, where she came from and belongs to and may be experienced as when she was created before she traveled around the world.

The kindest regards Bernhard Lipsøe

"Bernhard the bull"

DKK 300,000 -

In 2008 the sculptor Bernhard Lipsøe approached us. The year before be had delivered a very large sculpture in scrap iron to the organic Thise Dairy in Roslev. The sculpture depicts a cow as a symbol of the dairy's commodities. Bernhard believed, thet the cow should have a companion th the form of a great bull, so that they could multiply in Jutland. A few months later Bernhard Lipsøe's impressive sculpture was created and is now beautifully located on the corner of the road leading to Midtjyllands Kunst Center.
